Imperial Stout brewed with ancho peppers, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and lactose sugar aged in tequila and bourbon barrels

Final Rating: 4.62/5
look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 5 | overall: 4.5

Poured from a 500mL bottle into a bottle logic snifter. Acquired in a trade.

Pours a deep brown, nearly black body with a light brown two finger head that reduces fairly quickly to leave a ring of foam and little lacing.

Aromas of sweet milk chocolate, cocoa, light cinnamon, vanilla-bourbon, and a very light booziness come through. Aromas are not overly potent but definitely reflect the ingredients.

On the tongue is sweet but not cloyingly sweet cinnamon hot chocolate, milk chocolate and cocoa, very well executed medley of mexican stout flavors, a little spiciness from the peppers, followed by a roasty stout character. Mouthfeel is SUPER thick, rich, probably the best aspect of this beer. Medium carbonation.

A fantastic beer and great execution of the mexican style imperial stout. So thick and rich, nice balance of flavors with nothing taking over.
