Poured from a bomber into a Mexican Cake tulip glass. Acquired in a trade.
Pours a jet black inky body with a dark brown 2 finger head that sticks around for a while before reducing to a ring of foam, not much lacing.
Aromas come through as it warms up, start off slightly muted but near room temperature I get a lot of cocoa, dark fruits, hot peppers (pretty heavy), some soy notes on the aroma.
On the tongue is milk chocolate, cocoa powder initially, lots of hot peppers on the follow through that creates a light burn on the tongue, caramel and vanilla, bourbon, and on the finish is a light roastyness that sticks around for a while. Body is medium to medium-heavy, pretty rich and lightly boozy, low carbonation.
Overall a very nice experience, the heavy peppers and burn combined with the bourbon/vanilla made this very complex.
