“Our decadent Oatmeal Stout lovingly aged in Bourbon barrels. Beautiful chocolate, espresso and vanilla-bourbon aromas hold your nose hostage. Rich dark chocolate truffle, bourbon and espresso create a dangerously smooth and incredibly drinkable barrel aged Oatmeal Stout. Hoarding tendencies may occur. ”

Poured from a 22 oz boxed bottled into an innis & gunn tulip glass. Purchased in Attleboro, MA. Thanks Eric for putting this aside for me.
Appearance- Pours a pretty deep brown body with a generous 3 finger, fast rising light mocha head that reduces slowly to leave some thick white lacing.
Smell- Smells quite sweet with vanilla, butterscotch, honey, and caramel notes, the bourbon comes through quite nicely. Light coffee and chocolate.
Taste- Creamy, smooth, slightly sweet milk chocolate, toasted oats, caramel are the first things to show up. The barrel is present here and adds vanilla and bourbon notes. The finish is roasty and leaves a nice toasted malt flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- Somewhat light on the tongue, could use more body.. light carbonation.
A nicely done oatmeal stout.. barrel aging is unique with an oatmeal stout.. usually it’s reserved for the heavier styles like Russian Imperials or double stouts, but it worked here.
